Jersey Empire™: Official Rules (Opening Season)

🌍 The Mission

Jersey Empire™ is an island-wide, digital-first adventure designed to turn Jersey into an interactive game board. Teams navigate 26 iconic landmarks to solve heritage trivia and complete strategic challenges, all while supporting the Jersey Scouts.

⚡ Quick Start Guide

• Location: Start at Royal Square, St. Helier.
• Hours: 08:00 to 19:00 on your booked session day. Standard sessions run on weekends unless a special booking window is announced.
• The Hub: Log in at play.jersey-empire.uk and press "START EMPIRE" to begin.
• The Goal: Achieve the Highest Net Worth (Cash + Property Value) by the 19:00 cutoff.

🎮 Core Gameplay Mechanics

• Conquering Landmarks: Arrive within a 75m radius of a map marker to unlock that landmark's trivia challenge and the option to "BUY" the spot.
• Automatic Rent: If an opposing team arrives at your property, they pay you rent automatically.
• Starting Kit: Every team begins with £1,500 in digital Empire Money.
• Chance Cards: Random live events stay on a 30-minute rhythm, but only unlock after real landmark progress. Idle waiting does not stack missed chance-card opportunities.
• Timed Trivia: General Jersey timed trivia starts 15 minutes after your session begins and then repeats on its own 30-minute rhythm as a prestige-only knowledge check. It does not award cash or RC, and your team record appears in the dashboard.
• Passing GO: Collect a £200 bonus by passing through Royal Square (once every 3 hours). Check the in-game timer to see how long remains before your next claim.
• Free Parking: A random pot of at least £200 spawns dynamically; the first team to reach it wins the lot.

📈 Strategic Multipliers

• Full Set Bonus: Own an entire color group to Double (2x) the rent for those properties.
• Transport Tycoon: Station fees double for every additional station owned (up to 8x).
• Utility Mogul: Service fees double for every Utility held (Telecom, Water, Electricity).

🚔 Challenges & Credits

• The Jail House: Wait 20 minutes for a free release or pay £50 Bail. You must remain within 50m of your spot or the timer resets.
• RC (Reward Credits): Earn RC through correct landmark trivia and approved selfies. Use them for Hints, Reward Boosts (x2), or Shields during gameplay. Timed Trivia does not award RC.
• Photo Challenges: Selfie/photo missions are treated as special live-event moments rather than automatic landmark triggers.

⚠️ Safety & Professional Conduct

• Car-Free Conquest: Use of private cars to move between landmarks is strictly prohibited to promote sustainability.
• Tide Safety: Mandatory tide checks are required for Elizabeth Castle and Corbière.
• Public Respect: No trespassing on private land or climbing on historic monuments.
• Group Integrity: Teams must stay together; participants under 16 require constant supervision.
